Jean Lamfers combines her background as a broadcast journalist and sustained interest in the news media with her legal practice when she is called upon by longstanding clients to do pre-publication review of news stories, documentaries, articles, books, and Web site materials. She also represents multimedia clients in advertising, Web site development, and text messaging arenas.

Before attending law school Jean worked in radio and television news as an anchor and reporter. In addition to her law degree, she has a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Kansas, William Allen White School of Journalism and has been an Adjunct Professor of Law – Communications at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas.
Jean worked at Media/Professional Insurance as Claims Counsel managing media and professional liability claims before going into private practice. While there she was founding co-chair of the now 20th+ annual Media & The Law Seminar, held in Kansas City, Missouri, a nationally recognized continuing education seminar for attorneys and insurance agents.
